Divisions of autonomic nervous system
Write down the two divisions of autonomic nervous system?
Expert
The autonomic nervous system is divided in sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system.
Sympathetic nervous system comprehends the nerves which emerge from ganglia of neural chains lateral to spinal column (near the spinal cord) and therefore are distant from tissues they innervate. The central and peripheral neurons allocated to those neurons are also part of sympathetic.
Parasympathetic nervous system is made of nerves and peripheral or central neurons related to visceral ganglia, neural ganglia located near the tissues they innervate.
