RAID 1 is disk striping. There is No mirroring any parity. Minimum 2 disks needed. If any one disk fails all the data get vanished.
RAID 5 is disk striping along with parity. Minimum 3 disks needed. if anyone disk fails Data remain safe, if two fails data get vanished
