Describe in brief the word Key frames?

After a story-board has been laid out, the senior artists go and sketch the main frames of the animation. Such main frames are frames in which a lot of change occurs. They are the key points of animation. Later a bunch of junior artist’s sketch in the frames in between. This way, the workload is distributed and controlled by the key frames. By doing work this manner, the time in which an animation can be generated is cut dramatically, based on the number of people working on the project. Work can be completed simultaneously by many people, therefore cutting down on the time required to get the final product out.
