State difference between the impact and non-impact printers?

Impact printer press made the character faces against an inked ribbon over the paper. For examples:  Line printer and dot-matrix printer

Non-impact printer and plotters uses the Laser techniques, Xerographic process, inkjet sprays, electrostatic methods and electro thermal methods in order to get the images over the papers.
For example: Inkjet/Laser printers.
