The Autodiscover service collects the needed configuration detail in the Active Directory to allow Outlook 2007, mobile e-mail clients , and Office Outlook Web Access to efficiently connect and locate to the proper Exchange 2007 Mailbox server which holds the user's mailbox. The Autodiscover service is also employed to create configuring Outlook 2007 clients easier and to provision mobile devices which are employed to connect to Exchange 2007. By default, the Autodiscover service is permitted.
