Cnidocytes are specialized cells existed in coelenterates. They are found in epidermis and have toxic substances which can hurt, paralyze or even kill the other animals. Each and every cnidocyte has an inner capsule know as nematocyst where the real urticating substance is stored. Whenever a cnidocyte is excited it causes nematocyst to expose a filament having the toxic chemical. Cnidocytes and their nematocysts contain the biological functions of defending the individual from exterior aggression and of helping to capture their victim.
