Define the term Character Stuffing
Define the term Character Stuffing in brief.
Expert
In byte stuffing or character stuffing, a special byte is added up to the data section of the frame when there is a character with similar pattern as the flag. The data section is stuffed by using an extra byte. This byte is generally termed as the escape character (ESC), which consists of a predefined bit pattern. If the receiver encounters the ESC character, it eradicates it from the data section and treats the next character as the data, not a delimiting flag.
