Allosteric enzymes are such that have more activation center and to which another substances termed as allosteric regulators bind.

Allosteric regulators can be allosteric activators or allosteric inhibitors. The interaction among an allosteric enzyme and the allosteric inhibitor dis-permits the binding of the substrate to the enzyme. The interaction among the allosteric enzyme and the allosteric activator permits the binding of the substrate to the enzyme and at times raises the affinity of the enzyme for the substrate. This regulatory phenomenon of the enzyme activity is termed as allosterism.
