It is a concept in Java and UNIX and this is a light weight sub process or process within an application program. This is controlled by the OS kernel. This has a process structure, termed as thread stack, at the memory. Thread has a unique ID. Thread has states within the system as illustrates: stating, running and blocked and finished.
