1.       The objectives must be pre -determined.

2.       The objectives must be reduced to black and white. A clearly defined objective provides the clear direction for managerial efforts.

3.       The objectives must be realistic, as they must be written within the reach of the organization.

4.       The objectives must be measurable.

5.       The objectives must have social sanction, restriction on organizational objectives are put through social rules, norms or customers.

6.       Objectives are usually plural.

7.       All objective are interconnected and mutually supportive.

8.       Objective may be short -range, medium -range and long -range.

9.       Objectives may be constructed into a hierarchy. For example, overall, major, divisional, department etc.
