There are three main categories of defects which are as follows:
a) Wrong : - The requirements can be implemented improperly. This defect is a discrepancy from the specified specification.
b) Missing : - whenever there is a requirement given by the customer and it was not performed. This is a discrepancy from the specifications, an indication which a specification was not executed, or the requirements of the user was not noted accurately.
c) Extra : - A requirement included into the product which was not known by the end user. This is always an inconsistent from the specification, but can be a characteristic preferred by the user of the product. But, it is measured a defect because it's a different from the offered requirements.
