Case study of an Operational-Strategy interface

Develop a case study of the Operational-Strategy interface as it applies to organisational change (last 3-5 years) within your organisation, together with a project implementation case study .

You are required to detail the operational change portfolio within your organisation over the past 3-5 years and critique its composition relative to the strategies defined by the organisation. The analysis should explore the impact that these strategies have had on the change portfolio in terms of issues such as supply chain position, interface between product design & delivery and the product & service portfolio offering. However the analysis should also explore the impact that these operational change initiatives have had on the strategy of the organisation going forward. (e.g. impact of external environment (Porters competitive forces), impact of resources of firm (Barney’s RBV) and impact of how these resources are configured by the firm (Teece’s dynamic capabilities))

Select one significant change project that has been undertaken within the organisation. The purpose of this is to allow you the opportunity develop an understanding of the reality of implementing the change project. The focus should highlight the complexity of planning and implementation issues encountered during the project’s lifecycle, together with the lessons learned from the experience.
