The concept of brain, or encephalon, comprises of the “cerebrum”, mostly referred to as hemispheres, but the concept also involves the thalamus and the hypothalamus, the brainstem which includes pons, midbrain and medulla and the “cerebellum”. Brain and the spinal cord make the central nervous system (CNS).
