i) This is the largest section of debt market in India. ii) This accounts for almost 2/3rd of the issues in primary market. iii) This accounts for almost 4/5th of the turnover in secondary market. iv) Issues are regulated through RBI under Public Debt Act. v) Such securities are issued throughout an auction mechanism. vi) Perspective investors are insurance companies, banks, trusts, mutual funds, provident funds and so on. vii) Such instruments can be traded in WDM section of NSE that is fully automated screen based trading system.
