The Product Owner can cancel a Sprint if indispensable. The Product Owner might do so with input from team, scrum master or management. For illustration, management might wish to cancel a sprint if external circumstances cancel out the value of sprint goal. If a sprint is peculiarly terminated, the next step is to conduct a new Sprint planning meeting, where reason for termination is reviewed.
