The purpose of this assignment is to apply what you have learned about Argumentative Writing and Research Writing to compose a formal Research Paper with an Argumentative Focus.
Write an argumentative essay on: Connections between violence in media and real violence
Write an organized argument, in which you use logical reasoning and data to support objectively written claims and reasons. Organize your paper so that the structure is clear. Choose words and rhetorical devices, such as rhetorical questions, that provoke rational thought rather than strong emotions.
You will incorporate elements of research writing into this essay, so your essay should have at least 3 outside sources that you found in your research. You will credit this outside information in your essay using in-text citations and a Works Cited page at the end of your essay.
The in-text citations and Works Cited page will use MLA Style.
The length of this essay is to be at least 5 full pages (not counting the Works Cited page) using the formatting guidelines below:
Formatting Guidelines: Font will be Times New Roman 12 point
Text should be double-spaced
Margins should be set at one inch.
Name, Course, Instructor, and Assignment should appear in the top left corner.
A title should be centered and bolded at the top of the paper.
The in-text citations and Works Cited page will follow MLA Style.
