Why is it critical to be reminded, now and then, that the terms "average" and "normal" are identified by our own personal experiences and those whom we might consider abnormal, or different, might not be seen that way by others? Why do we shift to elderspeak when someone ages? What are we assuming? Support your answer (in other words, don't guess).
