1- Access the "Catholic Beliefs Systems Chart." Complete the chart and post to the Discussion Forum as an attachment. State the most surprising finding about Catholicism you discovered and why it is surprising. Access at least three other classmates' charts and comment on their findings.
2- Did anyone pick up on celibacy as somewhat surprising in the Catholic Church? Why celibacy in the Catholic Church and what are some of the social ramifications of such policy? Are the root causes of the colossal child sex abuse scandals rocking the church in the policy not to allow priest to marry?
What will it take to allow priest to marry in the Catholic Church? Or you believe it will not happen anytime soon.
3- Using your textbook and websites, list four facts about religious engagement within the Catholic Church around the world. Cite your answers. Also state which fact(s) surprised you.
4- One huge thing about catholic engagement is education and health. The Catholic Church has many orphanages and parochial schools and colleges as well as hospitals. These schools promote the Catholic belief and help students grow and learn so that they can maintain the faith and live a moral life. The Catholic person believes in taking care of the poor and needy, orphaned and widowed and the sick, therefore, we spend time and resources doing this through our hospitals and charities.
