Both Stein and Cowie appear to be liberal in their political ideology. Both probably vote for Democratic candidates and both likely support unionization of workers.
In what specific ways do their introductions tell you that these ideological leanings do or do not bias their arguments about economic decline in the seventies? Do your findings on this question increase or decrease your trust in these authors' interpretation of information?
