What axial force would result in permant deformation

An arresting hook is comprised of A36 steel and has a constanst thickness (t) along its entire lenght. The hood is subjected to an axial force of 50 kip which is resisted by a 0.6 in diamter pin installed in hole A which has ulitimate shear strength T-ult = 64 ksi

A) determine hooke's required thickness to the nearest 1/4 inch to prevent tensile or bearing failure if Sigma b-ult = 150 ksi and factor of safety of 1.5 is maintained.

B) If hook is attained using a double lapse splice connection, will the pin fail? Again, assume a factor of sefety 1.5

C) determine what axial force would result in permant deformation at that thickness.

L1= 24, L2=18 b=3.0 d=0.6 r=0.3 c=1.5
