What are the positive skills the leader demonstrated

Discussion Post I: Introduction

As a management graduate, you will be an integral part of several strategic business decisions. But before you start exploring these aspects of organization and management, it's time to introduce yourself to your instructor and peers.

In your initial post, address the following:

1) Introduce yourself, including some information about your educational or professional background and what you hope to gain from this course.

2) Have you ever developed or helped develop a growth plan for a company, team, or yourself? For example, you may have charted a plan for where you want to be five years from now in your career. If so, how did it go? What did you learn from that experience?

3) Identify your personal measures of success and explain why each of them is important.

In response to two peers on their growth plans, address the following:

1) Compare your experiences with developing a growth plan. Identify one aspect of their growth plan that you liked.
2) How might you measure success differently than they did? Why?

Discussion Post II: Experience of Working With a Creative Leader

In your initial post, tell us a little bit about yourself-where you are from, your interests, and anything else you wish to share.

Next, share your experience(s) of working with a leader. Consider the following:

1) Was this person an inspiring leader or more of a command-and-control style leader?

2) What lessons did you learn from that experience?

3) What are the positive skills the leader demonstrated that you may incorporate into a leadership training program?

4) How would you describe, in a few short sentences, the ideal leader to work for in today's VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) environment? Please provide a brief rationale for your response.

While answering the second question, you may keep in mind the leadership toolkit that you will develop in Milestone One.

Respond to at least two of your classmates' postings. Your responses should show that you have given thought to what the original post said. They should also push the conversation forward, offering insights or (if necessary) asking clarifying questions. While responding, consider the following questions:

1) Is leadership style a binary choice, i.e., one or the other? Or do all leaders have a mixture of both styles to some degree?

2) Think about the worst leaders you have observed or worked for. What are the greatest lessons you've learned from their poor leadership traits?

The response must include a reference list. Using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, double-space, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
