Critically evaluate the use of key management concepts for managing people and organisations. In your answer use examples to support your arguments and consider the concepts' practical applications and implications.
When you think about all the roles and functions a manager has to carry out on a daily basis; what do you think are the most important ones? Why? And what could be a concept of modern management, a modern organisation? For discussing these problems, address the following questions in turn (The numbers in brackets give you an idea of how many words of the overall word count you should spend for answering a particular question):
1. What is a good manager? What does it need to be a good manager? Why? (400)
