The researcher from earlier now wants to conduct an experimental study to further examine the effect of petting cats on psychological well-being. They decide to assign one group to pet 3 cats, one group to pet 1 cat, and one group to pet no cats. Participants are randomly assigned to each group. After petting the cat(s), participants complete the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire. Results showed that participants who pet more cats had higher well-being than those who pet fewer cats.
