Pure substances are categorized into two categories that are elements and compounds. An element is a substance that can't be separated into simpler substances. Carbon, Oxygen, sulphur, aluminium, iron, and gold are elements. Above 110 elements are known but only 91 take place naturally on Earth. The residue have been created by scientists.
