Assignment: Applying Philosophy to Life
Assume that you are interviewing for a position as chair of a newly established ethics oversight committee for the following:
a. Hospital
Write a four to five page paper in which you:
1. Analyze three philosophies addressed in the textbook that you believe should guide decisions. Analyze one philosophy that you believe would be extremely detrimental for the organization to use in making decisions.
2. Provide a rationale for selecting this organization, explaining at least two reasons the organization needs ethics oversight.
3. Analyze the first philosophy, discussing its proponents and two major principles of the philosophy and how they apply to decisions that will need to be made.
4. Analyze the second philosophy, discussing its proponents and two major principles of the philosophy and how they apply to decisions that will need to be made.
5. Analyze the third philosophy, discussing its proponents and two major principles of the philosophy and how they apply to decisions that will need to be made.
6. Analyze a philosophy that would be detrimental, discussing its proponents and two major principles of the philosophy and how they would be detrimental to decisions that will need to be made.
7. Provide at least five credible, external academic references (at least one source for each criterion) to support your view about the need for and use of these philosophies to make ethical decisions for the organization. (Do not use such open sources as Wikipedia, About, Ask.)
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
