Projection of solids

Question 1:

a) A right pentagonal pyramid of base side 20 mm and axis 60 mm long, rests on one of its edges of the base in HP, the base being lifted up till the highest corner in it is 20 mm above HP. Draw the projections of pyramid where the edge on which it rests is made perpendicular to VP.

b) A hexagonal pyramid of 26 mm side of base and altitude 70 mm rests on HP on one of its base edges in such as way that the triangular face having the resting edge is perpendicular to both HP and VP.

Question 2:

a) A pentagonal pyramid side of base 25 mm and axis 50 mm long lies with one of its triangular faces on HP and its axis is parallel to VP. Draw its projections.

b) Draw the projections of a square pyramid of 30 mm side and altitude 60 mm long, when it is resting on HP on one of its base corners with a base side having the corner making 30o with HP. The axis is inclined at 30o to VP and is parallel to HP. The vertex is away from the VP.

Question 3:

a) A cylinder of diameter 45 mm and axis length 60 mm is lying on the ground with one of its generators, its axis is inclined at an angle of 30o to VP and parallel to HP. Draw its projections on an auxiliary inclined plane.

b) A cone of base diameter 40 mm and altitude 65 mm rests on HP with one of its point on its circumference of base. Its axis is inclined at 40o to HP and parallel to VP. Draw its projections on the auxiliary inclined plane.

Question 4:

a) Draw the projections of a cube of side 40 mm when it rests on the ground with one of its corners, with diagonal of solid vertical to the HP.

b) A pentagonal pyramid of side of base 30 mm and altitude 60 mm is suspended freely from a string joined to one corner of the base of pyramid. The string is held in such a manner that the apex of the pyramid is just touching HP. The axis of the pyramid is parallel to VP. Draw the projections.

Question 5:

a) A square pyramid of base side 40 mm and altitude 60 mm is lying on the VP on one of its triangular faces with the plane having the axis is parallel to VP and 30 mm above it. Draw the projections of pyramid.

b) A tetrahedron of edges 30 mm rests on one of its edges on the VP. That edge is normal to the HP. One of the faces having the resting edge is inclined at 30o to VP. Draw the projections of the tetrahedron.
