Organizational Structures
DIRECTIONS:
Given the corporate strategy structure BELOW develop two viable overall organizational structures that the firm could use to operate. Prepare a report that describes the recommended structures (basic form/design, considerations for centralization). Provide rationale for each recommendation (fit with the operating environment, how the structure contributes to effectively implementing the corporate strategy, potential issues management should address using the structure).
SITUATION:
FRUITY FOODS
Fruity Foods (FF) is a new small "Mom and Pop" store located in the poor section of Camden, New Jersey. During the past 30 years of its existence, the store, like the neighborhood, has experienced a rising crime rate. The building in which the store is located is runned down. Both of the owners are facing retirement and have been recently offered $50,000 to franchise their business. Neither of the owners want to sell, but they know that they need to make changes in the store if they want to remain open. Both need guidance in order to make an appropriate decision.
