Create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that includes all project tasks (hierarchically grouped) and durations.

Establish task precedence relationships.

Description of the Project

The project for the installation of a new compliance system intends to target to help the company be in tandem with the new legislation that requires that all the medicine sold in drug stores are properly documented. The new legislation points out that all prescriptions must come from a qualified medical practitioner or a recognized medical institution. The legislation also requires that the all the drug stores must record the name of the patient and the type of medical plan that they use.

Therefore this project intends to explain the software changes that are in the pipeline to ensure that the company's drug store chain complies with the new legislation. The company will need to integrate a database of all the medical practitioners in its business systems to ensure that the prescriptions brought by patients in the drug stores are from a recognized medical practitioner.
Moreover, the company also intends to incorporate a database that captures the patient details and the type of the medical cover that they use. Besides the new system helping the company to achieve compliance with the law it will assist the business to know the type drugs in demand and this will help the business to respond appropriately.

Stakeholders involved

To ensure that the project is a success the company will rely heavily on the services of an Information Technology provider. Considering that the project requires the drug stores to collect a lot of information, the company is required to install a server center to process the bulk of information.

Moreover, the company will also need to hire government inspectors preferably from the Food and Drug Agency (FDA) to evaluate whether the proposed business system is in line with the new regulations. It is worth pointing out that the new legislation requires that the new changes have to be certified by the FDA to ensure that it protects patient information. Therefore the company also needs to include legal services to ensure that the system is immune from confidentiality breaches.

It is worth pointing out that the new system will change the entire landscape of the company operations. Most of the staff will be directly involved with the system to help feed the patient data and also to counter-check the authenticity of their prescriptions.

Outcomes of the Project

It is worth pointing out that the new changes in the company have been precipitated by the new legislation that requires all drug stores to record all the dug sales to patients in an electronic system where information is easily retrievable. Therefore, the key objective of this new system is to collect customer data on all the business transactions (Hollenson, 2015).

Moreover, the company intends to develop a marketing tool from the new system. From the customer records, the company will be able to know the drugs in demand and the common types of patients thus it will be able to respond appropriately the emerging marketing trends.

Evaluation of Success of the project

Essentially for the project to remain sustainable, it must remain within the budget constraints of the company. Considering that the project is a big development for the company, its cost implication for the company needs to be kept in check so that it does not exceed the budget limits. Therefore for the project to be sustainable, its cost needs to be manageable by the company.
Moreover, the assessment of possible conflict interest areas is a parameter that will help to determine the success of the project. The impact of regulations that for instance require the sharing of information between competitors will have a bearing on measuring the success of the new project.

Measurable Organizational Value of the Project

The company intends to avoid fines that are imposed when a company does not adhere to statutory regulations. It is worth pointing out that fines have a negative effect on the company's earnings. Moreover, the company intends to use the new software as a marketing tool, and this will promote the profitability of the company (Mannheim &Sisodia, 2015).
