Unnatural Causes: Bad Sugar

Unnatural Causes: In Sickness and in WealthSelect a Public Health Issue

The two videos that I choose to focus on were In Sickness and Wealth and Bad Sugar. I found that these two documentaries are still ongoing issues that we see in our community on a regular basis. Since working in the clinic and the hospital, I've seen so many people with and without insurance, which is a known issue across the U.S. Being in the clinic; there are so patients suffer from lousy sugar, which is known as Diabetes. Patients would have the wealth is higher than the people who have fewer means then them. The life expectancy varies when it comes to people who have more money. I think it's vital to make sure that insurance is available to everyone from the poor to wealthy. The goal is to make sure that everyone lives a healthy life and have their yearly screening done. The second documentary called Bad Sugar patients with diabetes struggle with poor diets and little to no exercises. Nearly half of Tohono O'odham has Type 2 Diabetes, and it's more than seven times the national average rates for children, and it's starting to climb rapidly.
Both videos were fascinating because these issues currently still exist. The goal is to try and make sure everyone have healthcare and so they can stay healthy. Both topics go hand and hand because everyone needs insurance and if you don't have insurance you can end up with a morbid disease such as diabetes.

My understanding of the public health policy is addressing the issues and creates better health equity for everyone. There are so many different issues that we face with public health on a regular basis it's time to come up with a plan educate the patients on there health and well-being. Free classes for the patients to come and learn more about their health and morbid disease. Offering healthy eating cooking classes this will help the patients learn to cook healthy meals not only for them but their whole family. Creating recipes that they can use at home so that they continue to utilize this tool at home. Available advocates to help patients with scheduling any follow up appointments with their primary doctor. I think offering classes and education material will continue to improve the patients and we should see the numbers slowly
