Reflection Assignment
Throughout this course, you have learned a great deal about the design and characteristics of databases and uses for healthcare information. Write a reflection paper on what you have learned in this course about data and information use in the modern healthcare era.
Your reflection should include responses to the following:
1. How have databases changed the availability and accessibility of data for healthcare professionals? Be sure to use your own words.
2. Why should HIM professionals know some of the ways in which data can be stored and retrieved? What are some ways that data reports, organizational studies and benchmarking be used to benefit a HIM department and its organization?
3. Have you observed any efficiencies or improvements in your own medical care or that for a family member, as a result of recent changes in technology? If so, in what ways? Describe.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
