Discussion: Network Upgrade
During an onsite visit with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), he tells you how upset he is that they found Telnet in use by their network administrators. The reason was that the version of the router and switch operating system currently in use does not support security protocols. You assure the CISO that the upgrade will resolve that problem among other weaknesses he might be unaware of.
In this discussion, you will be playing both roles: you will play the role of CISO in your own thread and then the role of network administrator in your responses to other students.
• In your initial thread, assume the role of CISO and explain why you are upset about the use of Telnet, giving some suggestions on what can be done to address remote access to the network equipment.
• Make sure to support your thoughts with resources, citing them in APA style.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
