Short Story Paper Prompt for English
For the essay project covering the short fiction/story genre, I would like for you to do something a little different. I want you to choose a short story and it can be one of the ones we are reading in class or one from one of those authors or any other you choose as long as it is not a poem or novel. Read the story and response on the following ways:
1. Do a 2-3 paragraph overview of the author and his or her life.
2. Do a summary of the short story in the next 3 to 4 paragraphs by explaining the plot, the characters, the setting and the conflict in the story and how it is resolved.
3. Explain what you liked and learned from reading it. YOUR thoughts and opinions and be specific and fully explain yourself in at least 2 paragraphs.
The overall essay should be approximately 2 to 3 pages and answer these specific questions.
