PART I. Watch the youtube video "Two Monkeys Were Paid Unequally: Excerpt from Frans de Waal's TED Talk" and answer the questions that follow in essay/narrative format
1a. Make a brief case (about a paragraph) that equality can be considered the foundation of justice (fairness). Why should inequality be considered injustice? Refer to the Capuchin monkey experiment from the video in your argument.
1b. Make a brief case that justice can be based on something other than equality and still be considered fair (for example, liberty or property rights as the foundation of justice despite it coming at the expense of equality).
PART II. Watch the youtube video "TEDxEmory - Dr Frans De Waal - Monkey Business 101, How Animals Cooperate." and answer the questions that follow in essay format.
2a. Briefly explain what is implied by the concept "Homo Economicus." What does it mean?
2b. From the video, explain your position on whether animals are or can be "moral"? What is the basis of moral behavior? That is, when an animal is cooperating to help obtain a goal for which they do not seem to directly and immediately benefit from (and it perhaps even represents a self-sacrifice), why then do they cooperate?
2c. Tell me something you learned about human behavior from the videos in this assignment?
