Choose one of the following topics and write a 1-2 page essay. You must use at least 2 sources (your textbook can NOT be used as a source, non-academic sources such as Wikipedia, weebly.com, history.com. sparknotes, etc... can NOT be used as a source. You must included a Works Cited section at the end of the essay; the citations must be in MLA format.
1. Discuss the role of the Supreme Court in Reconstruction and the enforcement of the Reconstruction Amendments. Did the Court's ruling enhance or abridge the rights of African Americans in the late 19th Century? Cite and explain at least 2 specific examples to support your answer.

2. Discuss the relationship between Big Business and government in the late 19th Century. How did each support one another? Cite and explain at least 2 specific examples of government legislation, actions, or inactions that supported the development of Big Business.
