This paper aims at discussing major issues that are expected to be debated at the time 2016 elections will be held. These factors are most likely to have some impacts both economically and socially. Further, the paper will discuss the issue of same sex marriages as a social issue that has a direct impact in the country. Finally, the paper will elucidate on the various measures that are being undertaken to combat and handle this issue of same sex marriage.
Introduction
Same sex marriages have been rising and it is a critical issue that carries a lot of weights. I have strong belief that the presidential candidate in the race will be ready to deal effectively with the issue as expected. To some extent, the same sex marriage is an issue that needs quick intervention. In fact, most of the members of the society have not yet accepted this issue. However, efforts are being carried out by the government to offer them legal protection; they are still being fought. Some places treat in the US are still rejecting their relations with this group of people. Some feel that their practices are immoral and should never be practiced in the society. Therefore, since it has effects on the nation. It should be addressed by the person who will clinch the top seat of presidency.
A. At the workplace setting
People engaging in the same sex marriages have always been discriminated against for ages. In fact, most corporations globally instead accepting the same sex marriages as part of embracing diversity, they are being fired and denied chances of promotions regardless of their overall performance at their respective places of work. Therefore, the State will be required to delegate on the issues and set out procedures on the measures that should be undertaken to address various issues. Further, the candidate to be elected should take the issue as one with a lot of importance because they are American citizens. Further, action should be taken to the people who are taking part in discriminating against fellow citizens. High penalties should be instituted to ensure that people in the same sex marriages are given equal opportunities in their places of work(Corvino, 2012).
B. The society
The society has a role to play in helping the government in handling the issue of same sex marriage. In the society where we live, it has been a challenging task to accept these same sex marriages. Therefore, the society has to play a part in ensuring that the members of the same sex marriages are assimilated in the society. The approach will be playing a major role in the determination of the direction that will be taken to address the issue and to find a concrete solution to the problem. This approach will ensure that all members of the society have the right to participate in all activities of nation building(Eskridge, 2015).
C. Suggested solution
There are various measures that should be undertaken by the person who will clinch to the position of presidency. The administration must take an initiative to come up with programs of educating masses on various means through which these people can be helpful to the society. Additionally, various agencies should be assigned the role of implementing policies that will encourage the accepting people participating in same sex marriages in the society. Finally, several legislations must be formulated to govern the manner handling all the cases to with discrimination of people in same sex marriages(Spilsbury, 2012).

The workplaces and society must come up with means of accepting these people in society.
