TASK 1: Group Work: Formal Presentation

Scenario: You are employed in one of the corporations in Oman that manufactures all types of camera' and video equipment. You are assigned in the New Product Development Section and you are responsible for the possibility to launch the new camera or video product in the Sultanate of Oman.

Time Limit: 20 minutes per presentation

More specifically, your presentation covers the following:

• Conduct an analysis using secondary sources of information on the product area in Oman.

• Present your ideas on the most effective ways to conduct primary consumer research into the market, focusing on consumer attitudes and
behavior.

• Give a summary of a communications strategy to target your proposed customers.

• Present your findings by means of the formal presentation to the "management team" (tutors and other students).

• Make sure that you acknowledge your sources (References) for any. facts and figures that you use.

• Presentation will not be more than 20 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of questions from the management team. Each student needs to participate in the presentation.

TASK 2: Individual Assignment

Using the product that you investigated in the group assessment:

1) Discuss the buyer decision making process that the consumer would go through when purchasing this product.

2) Discuss the psychological factors that affect consumers' buying decisions to purchase this product.

Your source information could include a mixture of books, academic journals, databases, market reports and other credible -academic sources. Quality newspapers may also be used, but please note that an essay comprising mainly of newspaper sources (Le. popular journalism) will not be acceptable as an academic essay in the context of this assignment.
