Mock Campaign:

Your organization is building a new wing for a cost of $200 million. The organization has reserves that will infuse $80 million into the project. It needs $120 million in philanthropy to make it happen. Because of bank financing, the organization only needs $10 million in cash through philanthropy for each year over the next twelve years with the first $10 million needed one year after the campaign has begun.

You have a $10 million lead gift and a total of $12 million in additional lead gifts. Additionally, you have the Campaign Co-Chairs enlisted along with your Division chairs which include Lead Gifts, Major Gifts, Special Gifts, and General Gifts divisions.

The enlistments and the lead gifts have come because all involved know, believe in and have supported your organization in the past. Now you must take the following steps:

1. Develop the campaign rules that include the duration of the campaign and its pledge payment period

2. Develop a marketing case for support and attendant materials that include letterhead and pledge cards

3. Develop the campaign plan for distribution and training

4. Enlist the remaining volunteers needed for the campaign divisions

5. Embark on and complete the campaign.
