You are a justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. You must write an opinion for the court on the following facts:
Ms. Maxime Burberry went to her favorite bakery, "Macaron Mania" , in Dallas, Texas to purchase a dozen chocolate macarons, a French type cookie. When Ms. Burberry walked into the store, she approached the counter - the owner, Sammy Von Uberstein, stated "STOP! You are a woman, where is your husband?" Ms. Burberry stated, "I am not married, I have no husband, what difference does that make?" Mr. VonUberstein stated, "I don't serve women, it's my right under the U.S. Constitution." Mr. Von Uberstein told her to leave.
Ms. Burberry files a lawsuit in her state courts but she is denied relief. Ms. Burberry files a case in the U.S. Supreme Court and the court grants her a hearing. All of your fellow justices believe that Ms. Burberry should prevail - so the justices have asked you to write the unanimous majority
opinion.
