Discussion: Data Analysis and Testing the Hypothesis.
One of the first tasks after obtaining data is to get to know it.
Question 1. What are the measures of central tendency and dispersion?
Question 2. Is the data set complete?
Question 3. Is it interpolated or estimated instead of directly measured?
Question 4. When the preliminary statistical tests are run, researchers often find that the assumptions initially made do not hold. Is there evidence of invalid assumptions in your analysis?
Drawing upon what you learned in ECO 620 and ECO 625 (and the econometric package utilized there), post the challenges that arise in your preliminary runs. In two follow-up posts, review the posts of other students (as assigned) and suggest solutions.
It is recommended that when you present your regression results, copy the relevant sections of your output to a Word document and attach it to your post.
