Airlines occasionally wow their passengers with a small

There are many ways to increase customer satisfaction, and increase the level of customer service in your establishment. One is to "tune in" or be more sensitive to guest needs. Another might be to establish a greater rapport with your customers.....knowing your customers by name is extremely important in our field.

I have found the most effective method of improving customer service is to provide an "unexpected" or "special" service to a guests experience, sometimes at a moment's notice. The term used for this kind of customer surprise, is called "wowing" the guest.

Airlines occasionally "wow" their passengers with a small candy bar treat as they board. It is unexpected and makes for a nice "appreciative" surprise to the travel experience. By the same token, restaurant chefs from time to time may send out a small, one-bite Amuse-Bouche (look it up) to the table "compliments of the chef".

Think about your dream job once you graduate. From a customer service perspective, what is the most creative customer "wow" experience you can think of that will go along way in retaining their business, yet at the same time, not be a costly burden to your operation?
