NOR flash memory refers to the type of non-volatile storage technology which does not need the power to retain the data. NOR flash is faster, however it is also more expensive and takes longer time to erase and write down the new data. The NOR is often used within the mobile phones. NOR flash has an SRAM interface which involves sufficient address pins to map the whole chip, allowing for access to each byte stored inside it.
