What do you mean by the term capacitor? Briefly describe it.
Expert
The capacitor is an electrical or electronic device which can store energy in electric field between a pair of conductors (termed as plates). The method of storing energy in the capacitor is termed as charging and comprises electric charges of equivalent magnitude, however opposite polarity, building up on each plate.
Capacitors are frequently used in the electric and electronic circuits as energy-storage devices. They can as well be used to distinguish between high-frequency and low-frequency signals. This property makes them helpful in the electronic filters.
