Network Address Translation translates and IP address employed in a network to other IP address known in another network. A NAT table is sustained for global to local and local to mapping of IP’s. NAT can be statically stated or dynamically translate from a pool of addresses. The NAT router is accountable for translating traffic coming and exiting the network. NAT prevents malicious action initiated by exterior hosts from reaching local hosts by being dependent on a machine on local network to initiate any connection to hosts on another side of the router.
