Social segregation and discrimination was mainly confined in South USA in 1950s. Schools, buses and trolleys, hospitals, parks, grandstand at baseball fields, libraries and movie theatres were favorable to white. Everywhere boards and signs were put restricting entry of black.

Also at some places signs were not considered necessary to notify blacks that they won’t be served in cafes where there was movement of white people.
