Nutritional factor

Nutritional factor is one of the major thing that may help patients to some extend:

1. Some patients may need to have supplemental amino acids  such as , citrulline, valine, arginine,  leucine, isoleucine. Arginine may prove useful, as it is a part in urea cycle.

2. Excess nitric oxide synthesized from arginine can be problematic.

3. Biotin may be useful because of its stimulatory effect on the ornithine transcarbaylase enzyme.

4.  In some cases where production of ornithine transcarbaylase enzyme is very low.

5. Treatment consisting of low-protein diet and dietary supplementation  is  not adequate sometimes.

6. In such cases, liver transplant can become a better treatment option.
