Main signs of diabetes
Specify three main signs of the diabetes?
Expert
Three main signs of the diabetes mellitus are called as the diabetic triad: polydipsia, polyuria, and polyphagia. Polyuria refers to the excessive elimination of the urine; in diabetes it is generally caused by the decreased water resorption within the renal tubules because of increased osmolarity of the glomerular filtrate (which is caused by the excessive glucose). Polydipsia refers to the exaggerated ingestion of the water; the thirst is because of the loss of the excessive water in urine. Polyphagia refers to the exaggerated ingestion of the food which is caused by the deficiency in the energy generation by glucose-lacking cells.
