MIMO (multiple inputs, multiple outputs) is an antenna technology for the wireless communications in which the multiple antennas are used at both the source (that is, transmitter) and the destination (that is receiver). The antennas at each and every end of the communications circuit are joined to minimize errors and optimize the data speed. MIMO is one of the several forms of the smart antenna technology, the others being MISO (multiple inputs, single output) and SIMO (single input, multiple outputs).
