The Fourteen Points were delivered by the President Woodrow Wilson in a speech at the joint session of the United States Congress.The purpose of the speech was to assure the country men that the World War being fought by USA was for the moral cause and for the peace and stability in Europe.
The speech was delivered over 10 months prior to the Armistice with Germany ended World War I, however the Fourteen Points became the basis for the German surrender and of the Treaty of Versailles. Though, the United States Senate did not ratify the Treaty of Versailles.
