Myo-inositol is one of eight naturally available forms which make up the nutrient inositol. Each one has a slightly distinct shape and is individually termed to as isomers. The myo-inositol isomer is the most plentiful form found in the central nervous system, where it can be transformed into phosphatidyl inositol, second messenger neurotransmitters.
