The basic demerits of z-buffer method are as follows:

i) Doubles memory requirements (or at least), one for refressbuffer and one for z-buffer.

ii) In this technique device are dependent and memory are intensive.

iii) In this technique wasted computation on drawing distant point which are drawn over with nearer which that occupy the same pixel.

iv) Spends time while rendering polygons which are not visible.

v) Requires re-computations when changing the scale.
